East Side Plating, Inc. (ESP) is a diversified job shop surface finishing business in Portland, Oregon that adds value to customer parts. 

For 75 years customers have trusted us to make their parts last longer, look better, and function more successfully. With a broad array of processing capacities that include plating, powder coating, polishing and part marking, ESP is a “one stop shop” for finishing.

We work with customers of all sizes – from small, one-off jobs to high volume repetitive ones. We’ve grown our product offering through the years by responding to the changing needs of our customers and adding new processes to match those needs. We excel at working together with customers to develop finishes that add value by enhancing the function and style of their parts. We pride ourselves on our long term relationships and consider ourselves an extension of our customer’s manufacturing process. 

As a value adding supplier, our quality processes continually improve as we reduce variation and waste with better surface finishing yields. As a long term, volume oriented supplier, ESP has acquired best in class global surface finishing technologies to offer customers. 

Customers want their parts processed correctly and also need their parts returned as quickly as possible and on time. For many parts, finishing processes occur just prior to product assembly and customers need to complete product assembly and ship them to their customers. Our coordination with customers is aligned to meet the product delivery needs. Market conditions continually change and priorities for part processing require regular review and revision. 

We choose to be adaptive to these changes and have worked flexibly in this “end of the manufacturing process” space for decades. Our team members are dedicated to serving customers and have long term surface finishing experience.

Some of the materials we use in our processes are corrosive and require special training and capacities to manage successfully. ESP operates under multiple regulatory permits that require diligent attention to waste management and pollution prevention. ESP is committed to regulatory compliance and to being a responsible member of the community.
